HVAC systems can account for as much as 70 percent of your facility’s energy usage and associated costs. An energy assessment can help you understand how your current systems are performing and where you can improve energy management.
Harris conducts building performance assessments using diagnostic monitoring equipment and visual inspection to establish a baseline and identify opportunities for improvement. The analysis also allows you to quantify the human, financial and environmental impact of your energy conservation efforts.
Many of our key findings point to relatively straightforward operational or system adjustments. If a building ranks high on energy consumption, we might recommend more aggressive temperature setbacks during unoccupied periods, saving energy without impacting occupant comfort. High or low levels of carbon dioxide also provide valuable insights: over-ventilation (high CO2 level) wastes energy, while under-ventilation (low CO2 level) can cause lethargy for occupants. Proper ventilation control and use of an economizer for free cooling could significantly increase saving and improve air quality
